Life After Loss
An educational support group for grieving adults held periodically throughout the year. Meets once a week for six weeks. No charge. Call for times and location.

RELISH (Relax, Eat, Laugh, Interact, Support, Heal)
Adults who are grieving the death of a loved one gather at a designated restaurant at 6:00 P.M. on the fourth Monday of each month. Supper is "Dutch treat" ordered from the menu. Call for location.

Common Threads
A gathering for bereaved individuals who enjoy knitting and/or crocheting. The ongoing group will meet from 10:00-11:30 A.M. the first Wednesday of each month at Newton Village Second Floor Activity Room (110 N. 5th Ave W.).  Yarn will be provided.  Bring your knitting needles and crochet hooks and join the group for crafts, coffee, cookies, and conversation.

Kid's Comfort Kits
Resources specifically designed for grieving children and their families. The resources support children as they begin to understand thoughts and feelings associated with the death of a loved one.

Growing through Grief
A program for children (grades 1 - 6) who have experienced the death of a loved one.  Held periodically throughout the year.  The children's program is 4 sessions in length.  Children can feel comfortable expressing their thoughts through play, stories, games, arts and crafts, talking about feelings, and conversations with a caterpillar puppet named "Felix."  Pre-registration is required.  No charge.

Grief Integration for Teens (“GIFT”)
A grief support program for teens (grades 7-12) that have experienced the death of a loved one.  Sessions for both middle school and high school students will be offered periodically throughout the school year in Newton.  Each program consists of 8 sessions.  Pre-registration is required.  No charge. Iowa Donor Network's Family Support Services is dedicated to serving the unique needs of organ and tissue donor families.  Services are designed to empower families so they may integrate the death and donation of their loved one's organs and/or tissues into their lives.  IDN's support services include providing literature that relates to the grief process and to organ/tissue donation, opportunities to commemorate loved ones through memorial projects, and information on special donor family events and activities.

Support groups, resources, and education available to help professionals and families who have a relative with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Safe Return Program, a national registry for persons with dementia who wander off by themselves. Adults grieving the death of a loved one meet with two facilitators per group for 8 weeks on Monday evenings in the fall, winter, and spring.  Groups are available for children and teens (6-17) at the same time.

BEGINNNG EXPERIENCE
