Harold Keller

Harold Keller, 65, of Newton died on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, at Bethany UCC in Baxter.  The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 19, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  Memorials in Harold’s name may be left at the church the morning of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Harold, the son of Clyde and Reva (Hicks) Keller, was born on January 11, 1952 in Newton.  He graduated from Newton High School in 1970.  Harold was united in marriage with Deanne “Sade” Allan on June 24, 1988 at the Bethany UCC in Baxter.  He worked for the railroad, highline construction, and drove truck.  Harold had a love for music; playing the guitar and bass and was a member of the Circle of Friends band.  He was a member of the Bethany UCC Church in Baxter and the South Skunk Blues Society.  Harold was also a devoted grandpa.

Those left to honor Harold’s memory are his wife, Deanne “Sade” Keller of Newton; two sons, Cory (Andrea) Keller of Newton and Brandon Keller (Jenna Lawson) of Newton; four grandchildren, Ayden Keller, Carson Villalobos, Stella Villalobos, and Carley Keller; siblings, Bettie (Tom) Riggs of Norwalk, Keith Keller of Ottawa, Kansas, and Joe (Jan) Keller of West Des Moines; and his nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kevin Keller; and a sister, Barbara Keller.
