Judy (Baldwin) Heaberlin

Judy (Baldwin) Heaberlin, 63, of rural Newton died on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at her home.  A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 11, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.  Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League may be left at the funeral home.

Judy, the daughter of Loren and Norma (Schumann) Baldwin, was born on February 17, 1952 in Grinnell.  She grew up in rural Kellogg.  Judy graduated from Newton High School in 1970 and attended Marshalltown Community College.  Judy was united with Dan Heaberlin on October 28, 1972, in Newton.  They made their home in Newton where Judy worked at Newton Manufacturing, the Maytag Company, and then for USDA Farm Services.  Judy enjoyed gardening, animals, attending the Iowa State Fair, traveling, and spending time with her family. 

Those left to honor Judy’s memory are her husband, Dan Heaberlin of Newton; children, Shawn (Tracy) Heaberlin of Moravia, Chris Heaberlin (Erin Swisher) of Newton, and Michelle Heaberlin of Newton; grandchildren, Morgan Heaberlin and Brendon Heaberlin; her sister, Joyce (Mike) Barrett of Ankeny; mother-in-law, Verna Joline Heaberlin Jones of Knoxville; and sister-in-law, Ragina (Jerry) Ostendorf of Pleasantville.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, JoAnn Fuchs; and brother-in-law, Alvin Heaberlin.
