Patrick Joseph Stanley

Patrick Joseph Stanley, 70, of Newton died on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Skiff Medical Center.  The family will greet friends from 12-3 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Wolf Creek Clubhouse, 3205 Wolf Creek Rd in Bondurant.  Memorials to Patrick’s family may be left at the visitation or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.

Patrick, the son of Robert and Margaret (McManmon) Stanley, was born on November 15, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois.  He grew up in Chicago and later was married in Chicago to Darlene DeLap on July 19, 1965.  Patrick worked as a Maintenance Engineer.  In 2008, they moved to Newton, Iowa.  Patrick belonged to Gun and Rifle Clubs and enjoyed going shooting.  He was a fun loving man who was always pulling a prank and making people laugh.  His grandkids would get involved in many of those pranks and also loved listening to him tell stories.  Patrick had a love for life and family.

Those left to honor Patrick’s memory are his wife, Darlene Stanley of Newton; children, Kenneth Stanley of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Patricia (Jack) Olson of Bondurant, and Joseph Stanley of Arlington Heights, Illinois; 9 grandchildren, Darlene, Kenneth, Jr., Harriet, Christopher, Fallon, Nicholas, Christina, Patrick, and Kevin; several great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; and two sisters, June and Pat.
