| Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Newton Union Cemetery. | |
| Those left to honor Floyd's memory are his wife, Ellen of Newton; 2 daughters, Dawn (Bob) Pfister of Monroe and Kim Howell (Harold Petro) of Kellogg; his 3 sons, Wayne Howell (Angie Hodgon) of Grinnell, Tracy Howell of Newton, and James (Jeannie) Howell of Newton; 19 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gary (Betty) Howell of Pleasant Hill and Ronald (Harriet) Howell of Newton; and 2 sisters, Darlene Markwitz of Conrad and Marcelene Schaper of Newton. | |
| He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Madeline (Pancoast) Howell, a grandson, a great-granddaughter, 2 brothers, and a sister. | |
| Floyd was a retired maintenance worker. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, horse shoes, fishing, skipping rocks, NASCAR, and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. | |
