| Those left to honor Marty's memory are his wife, Marilyn of Newton; and son, Craig (Peggy) Tierney of Kellogg.

| Marty served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Seoul, South Korea. | |
| Marty graduated from Albia High School in Albia, Iowa in 1950. | |
