| Interment: Following the funeral service on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. | |
| Those left to honor Paul's memory include his wife, Theresa of Newton; son, Thomas "Tomy" Hillers (wife, Abigail Wuest)of Valparaiso, IN; two daughters: Heather (Hewitt) Bain (husband, Jason) of Moberly, MO and Roxanne (Hewitt) Anderson (husband, Mark) of Newton; eight grandchildren: Kalob, Chelsea, Greggory, Ashley, Carly, Mitchell, Alixandra, and Tyler; brother, Leon P. (Terri) Hillers of Centreville, VA; sister, Phyllis Hillers of Manchester, IA; father-in-law, Harlow Paul of Bear Creek, NC; and nephews, Christopher, Patrick, and Andrew.

| He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd "Red" and Jean (Clingan) Hillers. | |
| Paul graduated from Central Dallas High School in Minburn in 1972. He received his paramedic education at Mercy Hospital. He worked as a paramedic and paramedic educator for the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City for 30 years, before retiring in 2007. He also was a millwright, home remodeler, and published writer.

| He was a lifetime member of the Iowa Farm Safety Council and was president of the council from 1995-1997 and from 2004-2005. He was an editorial advisor to Rescue Technology. Paul member of the National Association of EMS Educators. He was the Fire Chief in Minburn and was on the Minburn Emergency Response Team. Paul enjoyed remodeling houses, photography, and writing for EMS magazines. He also volunteered at the State Fair for the Farm Safety Council.
