| Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Thursday, September 03, 2009 at Newton Union Cemetery. | |
| Those left to honor Glen's memory are his wife, Alice of Newton; son, Steve Beatty of Newton; his daughter, Susan E. (Sherman) Swank of Newton; 6 grandchildren, Chris (Gerry, Jr.) Laurens of Colfax, Iowa, Michael Beatty of Duluth, Minnesota, Kelly Beatty of Mitchellville, Iowa, Peter Swank of Washington, Spencer Swank of Newton, and Jonathan Swank of Newton; and his 4 great-grandchildren. | |
| He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin M. and Erma (Quillin) Betty; his sister, Norma March; and a brother in infancy. | |
| Glen was a 1943 graduate of Newton High School. He was a lifelong farmer. | |
| Glen was a member of the Metz Church, attended the United Presbyterian Church, member of the Sugar Grove Grange, member and past board member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau, past township committee member for the A. S. C. S., past member of the Kiwanis Club, he was a past Jasper County Young Farmer Of The Year recipient. | |
| Memorials to the United Presbyterian Church or to the Donor's Choice may be left at the church during the visitation or service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. | |
