Visitation: The family will greet friends from 5-8 P.M., Friday, October 16, 2009 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Newton.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Newton Union Cemetery.

Scott was born on September 12, 1967 in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1986 and from Iowa State University in 1992 receiving his degree in Sports Management. Scott moved to Tennessee for many years where he worked as the Sales and Marketing Coordinator for Ingram Entertainment in the Monarch Home Video Line. He had recently transferred back to the Des Moines office and was living in Newton. Scott liked to help kids and was a youth baseball and basketball referee. He enjoyed fishing, including deep sea fishing, traveling, the beach, playing golf, fantasy football, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Iowa State Cyclones. Those left to honor Scott’s memory are his parents, Judy and Jeff Conn of Newton; brother, Chad Halter (Suzanne) of Newton; his grandparents, Harold and Helen Halter and Sandra Conn, all of Newton; aunts and uncles, Evelyn Petermeier of Osage Beach, MO, Jean and Shorty Meyer of Newton, Wendy and Don Crady of Overland Park, KS, and Sally and Terry Berger of Newton; his godchildren, Amanda and Scott Miller, both of Newton; special friends, Lori Anderson of Huxley and Brian Kramer of Newton; and his many other family and friends.

Memorials to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention may be left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service.
