| Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the funeral home. | |
| Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. | |
| Those left to honor Frances' memory are her daughter, Glenda Fleener of West Des Moines; five grandchildren, Ronnie Ikerd of Knoxville, Curt (Cokie) Ikerd of Brighton, Kandi (Jeff) Willhoit of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Amie (David) Poole of Ontario, California, and Rick (Vattene) Fleener of Iowa City; her three great-grandchildren, Walker and Garrett Ikerd and Matthew Poole; two brothers, Keith (Bonnie) Purdy of Des Moines, and Phil (Carol) Purdy of Chariton; and sister, Margaret White of Chariton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry M. and Hope L. (Marchant) Purdy; husband, Neno in 1994; son, Ronnie Ikerd; four brothers, Gail, Wayne “Bud”, Roger, and Max Purdy and three sisters, Lorna Nesselroad, Lois Knight and Gertie McCullough. | |
| Frances graduated from Guthrie Center High School in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She then attended and graduated from beauty school. Frances was a hairdresser for many years in Des Moines, Knoxville, and Newton.

| Frances was a member of the Red Hat Society, and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Des Moines and she had been an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newton. | |
| Frances enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking. She loved cooking and baking for her family. | |
