| Interment: Following the service and coffee time on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. | |
| Those left to honor Mac's memory are his two daughters, Helen E. Larimer of Des Moines, Iowa, and Dixie J. Weeks of Mesa, Arizona; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, his two half sisters, Katherine Damon of Melcher, Iowa, and Shirley (Alan) Ricketts of Moline, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Hattie (Fortney) McAnelly; wife, Nina in 1984 and son, Robert in 1985.

| Mac grew up in Seymour, move to Monroe and farmed, later he owned and operated Mac’s DX in Woodward, Iowa for 20 years, retiring in 1970 and then he moved to Newton. | |
| Mac was well known for his “Grandpa stories.”
