| Visitation: The family will greet friends from 10 A.M., until 12 P.M., Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the funeral home. The visitation will conclude with a short prayer service. After the prayer service a celebration of life will be held at Okoboji Grill. | |
| Those left to honor Diane's memory are her son, Matt (Minniette) Milligan of Baxter; 3 daughters, Andrea (Aaron Parker) Milligan of North Attleboro, MA, Sherri (Gregg) Gray of Ames, and Lori (Rick) Berning of Plymouth, MN; 6 grandchildren, Shaun, Jessica, and Dalton Howerton and Judy, Josh, and Drew Berning; her sister, Susan (Dennis) Mooers of Carlisle and her brother, Darrell (Kay) Cross of Des Moines. | |
| She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford "Bill" Cross, Marjorie (Bollhoefer) Cross Herbold, and Joseph Herbold; and her husband, Denny Hansen in 2008. | |
| During most of her employed life, Diane worked at Newton Manufacturing and for the City of Newton. She retired from the Newton Fire Department in 2007. | |
| Diane enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She liked playing bridge and going bowling with her friends. She also loved lattes, making cheesecakes, her dogs, and riding her motorcycle. | |
| In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Newton Fire Department may be left at the funeral home. | |
