| Visitation: The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, January 15, 2010 at the funeral home. | |
| Funeral Service: 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2010 at the funeral home. | |
| Interment: Due to the amount of snow in the cemetery only the family will be going to the cemetery following the lunch on Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Union Chapel Cemetery in rural Ira, Iowa. | |
| Those left to honor Doris' memory are her husband of 67 years, Arnold of Mingo; son, Allen Hunter of Mingo; daughter, Sue Maher of Mingo; her six grandsons, Sean (Kelly) Maher of Altoona, Ryan (Theresa) Maher of Baxter, Kirby Maher of Baxter, Stephen Hunter of Colfax, Bryce (Ashley) Hunter of Mitchellville, and Dustin (Michelle) Hunter of Mingo; and her eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ethel (Battles) Signs; and brother, Everett Signs in childhood. | |
| Doris was a graduate of Mingo High School. | |
| Doris was a homemaker and a farmer’s partner | |
| Doris was an active member of the Ira Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano and was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Ira Garden Club. Doris loved being with her grandchildren, she also enjoyed flower gardening, birds, her dogs and cats, music and dancing.
