| Those left to honor Dennis' memory are his wife of 51+ years, Ruth of Newton; two daughters, Margaret (Richard) Mortensen of Grinnell, and Kathy Stewart of Newton; three sons, Mark (Candy) Stewart of Newton, Chris (Patty) Stewart of Knoxville, and Tim (Deb) Stewart of Forest, Virginia; his thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, two brothers, Lowell (Emmy) Stewart of Wichita, Kansas, and Jim Stewart of Moline, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd E. and Laura (Carson) Stewart.

| Dennis was a production worker, as a painter and metal finisher at the Maytag Company for 34 years, retiring in 1986. | |
| Dennis was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. Dennis’ passion in life was gardening, he loved to go fishing and camping, he also enjoyed being with his family. Dennis also served his country in the Iowa Army National Guard.
