| Marjorie McVay, the daughter of Harold and Iva (Wilson) Mateer, was born December 27, 1929 in Newton, Iowa. She was a graduate of Newton High School.Marjorie was united in marriage with Roy McVay in Newton. She was a bookkeeper, then co-owner and manager of an auto parts store in Newton. Marjorie later worked in the school lunch program. She was a lifelong Newton resident. Marjorie had been a member of First United Methodist Church. She lived a quiet life. | |
| Marjorie died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Hospice of Jasper County's Monarch Wing in Newton. She was 80. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy in 1984; and her brother, John Mateer. | |
| Those left to honor Marjorie's memory include her son, Doug McVay of Oakland, CA; sister-in-law Sally Mateer of TX; her nephews: Steven, Mark and Curt Mateer and their families; and her cousins. | |
| Memorials to the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home. | |
