| Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton. | |
| Vigil Service: 7 P.M., Thurday, March 18, 2010 at the funeral home. | |
| Interment: Immediately following the funeral mass on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. | |
| Those left to honor Vaundeen's memory are her daughter, Helen Richard of Newton; 2 sons, Don (Shirley) Kastner of Blaine, MN and James (Annetta) Kastner of Newton; her 8 grandchildren, Eric Richard of Mankato, MN, Amatullah Richard of Monticello, Tony Kastner of Blaine, MN, Tracy (Josh) Stai of Kalona, Gwendolyn Bennett of Hinesville, GA, Connie Bennett of Evansville, IN, and Broderick Miller of Marion, IL; 5 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Donald (Mabel) Pack of Wichita, KS. | |
| She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Neva (McConnell) Pack; husband, Ernest "Ernie" Kastner in 2009; and 2 sisters, Ilene DeVore and Lucille Pack. | |
| She was a graduate of Osceola High School in 1942. | |
| Vaundeen was a waitress at Mason's Cafe for 18 years and a cook for Congregate Meals for 15 years. | |
| In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home or the church the morning of the service. | |
