| Those left to honor Connie's memory include her son, Jay (Tammie) Smith of Prairie City; 4 grandchildren: Bo, Samantha, Jami, and Jace Smith of Prairie City; her sister, Vicky (Scott) Mulbrook of Newton; sister-in-law, Lisa Coonts of Newton; and 2 nephews: Brooks (Brandy) Boertje and their daughter, Taylor of Des Moines, and Brian (Shari) Boertje and their son Brett of Newton. | |
| Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Willis G. and Arlene F. (Svejda) Coonts, and her brother, Michael Coonts. | |
| Connie was a graduate of Manson High School in 1967. She had lived in Newton for 21 years. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going out to eat, shopping, watching scary movies and sci-fi movies, being outside, and camping. | |
