Visitation: The family will greet friends from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, April 07, 2010 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 08, 2010 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Thursday, April 08, 2010 at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Those left to honor Lela's memory are her son, Patrick (Sheryl) Murphy of Omaha, Nebraksa; 2 daughters, Paula Moore of Newton and Peggy D. (Fred) Sellers of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her 4 grandchildren, Jason (Elizabeth) Moore, Michelle (Ken) Nepple, Rochelle (Chris) Crowder and Craig (Jessica) Sellers; step-granddaughter, Julie (Todd) Knudsen; her 5 great-grandchildren, Ava and Nola Moore, Davis Nepple, and Connor and Carson Crowder; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Nick, Zach, and Trevor; her brother, Dan (Marie) Hardenbrook of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Meta (Bunse) Hardenbrook; husband, Daniel in 2005; and 6 brothers, Walter, Cleo, Lester "Hap", Edward "Pete", Elvin "Stub", and Paul Hardenbrook.

Lela was a graduate of Newton High School in 1936. She worked as F.L. Maytag's secretary and then for the Draftboard. After she was married she was a homemaker and farmer's wife. Later she worked as a para-pro for the Newton School District and then as a caregiver at Peck Day Care. She retired from Peck.

Lela enjoyed flower gardening.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County or to the First Presbyterian Church may be left at the funeral home.
