| Visitation: The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the funeral home. | |
| Funeral Service: 1: 30 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the funeral home. | |
| Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Wednesday, April 15, 2010 at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. | |
| Those left to honor Amy's memory are her husband of 58 years, Jim; two sons, Mike (Barb) Fortune of Pleasant Hill, and Patrick Fortune of Newton and his special friend, Cathy Crady of Colfax; her two granddaughters, Michelle Fortune and Lauren Fortune; and three sisters, Vivian Scott, Hannah (Herman) Verwers, all of Melcher, and Ruth Mays of Mesa, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Amy (Berg) Scott; two sisters, Margaret Hyatt and Naomi Kirfman; and three brothers, Henry, Kenneth and John Scott.

| Amy was a graduate of Melcher High School in Melcher, Iowa in 1950. | |
| Amy owned and operated Queens Printing for many years. In her early working years she had worked in the payroll department for the Maytag Company until she began her family. Later she worked for Maples Chevrolet and the Newton Daily News. | |
| Amy loved spending the last 21 winters in Arizona, where she could play golf and make quilts. In the summers she enjoyed their home at Lake Ponderosa where she could fish from her paddle boat or off the shoreline. | |
