| Those left to honor Millie's memory include her eldest son, Chuck Myrick of Newton; youngest son, Jim of Marshalltown; 3 grandchildren: John (Erika) Myrick, Elisha Anderson, and David Myrick; 2 great-grandchildren, Dakota Myrick and Josie Anderson; her sisters-in-law, Mable Hobbs of Newton and Thelma “Tinkie” Hobbs of Greely, CO; her daughters-in-law, Jann Braaksma, Becky Myrick, and June Myrick Liberacki; and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. | |
| Millie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Les; her middle son, John; brothers, Windall, John, and LaVerne Hobbs; and her sister, Ruth Hummel.

| Millie was born December 18, 1915 to George Le Roy and Katie Vashti (Albee) Hobbs in Mindota, MO. She was the eldest and last surviving child of her family.
Millie was united in marriage on April 19, 1941 to Charles Leslie Myrick. Millie and Les were blessed with three sons: Chuck, John, and Jim.

| Millie cleaned houses, babysat, and worked many years as a cook at the Newton Country Club. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. She lived on her own in Newton until the end of 2009, when she moved to Nelson Manor. She was fortunate to become fast friends with her roommate Doris, and enjoyed visits with Father John and many friends and family members. | |
| In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the church on the day of the service or at the funeral home. | |
