| Interment: Immediately following the service on Friday, May 07, 2010 at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton. Military Honors by American Legion Post 111 & VFW Post 1655, both of Newton. | |
| Those left to honor the memory of Harold are his wife of 62 years, Helen of Newton; grandson, Chad Halter of Newton; his two brothers, Lawrence (Cora) Halter of Baxter and Wilbur (Jean) Halter of Newton; his sister, Shirley Brown of Newton; his sister-in-law, Helen Halter of Newton; daughter-in-law, Judy (Jeff) Conn of Newton; and his many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold and Matilda (Bach) Halter; son, Bruce Halter; grandson, Scott Halter; and a sister, Lucile Halter; brother & sister-in-law, Lewis (Lois) Halter; and brother, Robert Halter.

| Harold served his country in the U. S. Army serving from 1942-1946. | |
| Harold graduated from Baxter High School in 1940. | |
| Harold lived in Baxter until moving to Newton in 1973. He was a production worker at the Maytag Company in Newton for 38 ½ years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon, Baxter School Board, the VFW Post 1655 and American Legion Post 111. Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting, he just liked being outside, gardening and sports.
