| Those left to honor Betty's memory are her 2 daughters, Patricia Crook of Newton and Shirley Smith of Unionville; 11 grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. | |
| She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Clarence and Mabel Ann (Diggs) Kephart; 1st husband, Jess Piatt; 2nd husband, Harold Hughes; daughter, Sandra Kaisand; son, Clifford Piatt; granddaughter, Melinda Smith; grandson, Steven Wharff; and 2 sons-in-law, Kenny Crook and James Smith. | |
| Betty worked at Stockton's Bakery for 14 years and then at the Maytag Company for 8 years. | |
| She enjoyed camping, fishing, and going to music festivals. | |
| Memorials to the American Cancer Socity or the American Diabetes Association may be left at the funeral home. | |
