Visitation: The family will greet friends from 1-2:30 P.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
Funeral Service: 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg, Iowa.

Those left to honor Rick's memory are his wife, Vickie Crutchfield of Kellogg; 2 daughters, Jennifer Crutchfield of Davenport and Heather (Jeff) Parker of Knoxville; his son, Dale (Amber) Schlangen of Monroe; 7 grandchildren, Kelsie Spears, Zachary Crutchfield, Kacie Horstman, Dalton Schlangen, Sophie Parker, Maggie Parker, and Kolton Schlangen; his two step-daughters by a previous marraige, Tracy Barber and Michelle Hastings; and his dog, Honey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Agnes (Dovell) Crutchfield.

Rick had a 20 year career in the U.S. Army being the Station Commander at Newton, Des Moines, Dubuque, Cleveland, Oh and Lorain, OH. He also received many award in the Army including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and the US Army Gold 5 Star Recruiter Badge and Ring. Rick finished his career working at the Maytag Company as a Paint Ransburg for 12 years, retiring in 2004.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 1655 and the Grace Community Church.

Memorials in Rick's name may be left at the funeral home.
