Charles Scott Schwarz

Charles Scott Schwarz, 57, of Newton died on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.  No services are scheduled at this time.  Memorials to The American Diabetes Association may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Scott, the son of Frank and Lucy (Johnson) Schwarz, was born on December 8, 1960 in Newton.  He was a lifelong resident of Newton and the Mariposa area; graduating from Newton High School in the class of 1979. Scott had worked for Des Moines Asphalt for many years prior to farming by Mariposa.  He loved going to concerts and enjoyed nature.  Scott was a compassionate person and always was willing to help others.  He also had a knack for turning others people’s trash into his useful treasures.

Scott is survived by his daughters, Stephanie (Andre) Parks and Sara (David) Whisenand, both of Newton; six grandchildren, Kaylee, Braelyn, and Charli Parks, Cameron and Carleigh Balmer, and Cali Whisenand; his mom, Lucy Schwarz of Newton; dad, Frank Schwarz of Newton; sister, Lyndi (Brian) Yardley of Newton; his nephews, Jordan and Nicholas Yardley; and his significant other, Kim Shepley of Newton.  He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
