Dale Raridon

Dale’s memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 25th at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton. Military Honors will be by American Legion Post 111 of Newton.

The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, January 24th at the Wallace Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.

Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.

Dale Raridon the son of George N. and Marjorie L. Devitt Raridon was born on May 31, 1933 in Hazelton, North Dakota. He was a graduate of Newton High School in 1952. Dale served his country in the U. S. Navy from February of 1953 to February of 1957 during the Vietnam War.

On January 22, 1955, Dale was united in marriage with Cynthia Evans. They were blessed with three sons, Jonathan “Jack”, Scott and David. They were later divorced. On June 28, 1968, he was married to Connie L. Ryther in Newton, Iowa. They were then blessed with two children, Craig and Carrie.

Dale was a production worker in Automatic Assembly for the Maytag Company in Newton, retiring in 1995. He had also worked as an engineer for the Parsons Company in Newton for 10 years. Dale was a member of the Newton Elks Lodge No. 1270. He had also been a longtime Newton Cardinal Booster Club Member. Dale loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to their school activities. He and Connie had enjoyed traveling. Dale enjoyed going to and watching sports; and he enjoyed doing woodworking. Dale was a devoted and caring husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.

Dale died on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Park Centre in Newton. He was 84. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Connie in 2012; brother, Bob in 1978 and twin brother, Duane in 2000.

Those left to honor Dale’s memory are his children, Jack Raridon of Newton, Scott (Traci) Raridon of West Des Moines, David Raridon of Springfield, Missouri, Craig Raridon of Omaha, Nebraska and Carrie (Aaron) Baird of Monroe; ten grandchildren, Scott Jr. (Jena), Sam, John and Kate Raridon, Lila and Charlie Raridon, Carly and Ava Raridon, Lilli and Laney Baird, three great-grandchildren, Eli, Thia and Ari Raridon; and his sister, Janice Clemons of Sacramento, California.
