David Logsdon Obituary

David Kent Logsdon, 78, of Newton died on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at VA Central Iowa Healthcare Systems.  Committal of David’s ashes along with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 13, at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery in Van Meter.  The family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.  Memorials to David’s family may be left to the funeral home (checks made payable to Jennifer Bisom).  

David, the son of Harry and Ella (Stahl) Logsdon, was born on April 5, 1941 in Newton.  He was a lifelong resident of Newton.  David served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962 and then in the Army National Guard from 1962-1966 and then reenlisted from 1980-2001.  David also worked in the factory at the Maytag Company for 30 years. He was a member of the UAW Local 997.  David enjoyed working on computers and loved to watch tennis and baseball.

David is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Bisom of Colfax and his grandchildren, Nyckolle Bisom of Newton, Hunter Bisom of Newton, Mya Bisom of Colfax, and Delaney Bisom of Colfax.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Janice Ross; and twin siblings that died at birth.
