After retiring, Gary and Shirley moved to Joplin, Missouri. Following Shirley’s death in 2008, Gary returned to Iowa. Gary enjoyed antiques, restoring clocks, hunting, and fishing. More recently, he liked trips to Prairie Meadows. Gary had a generous heart and will be greatly missed.
