JOE was not just a player for the Newton Nite Hawks Football team of the Northern States AAA Minor Pro Football League, he was a talented athlete and a tenacious, hard nosed competitor every down that he played as an All League Lineman. Had it not been for his dedicated service to our country as a member of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War, he could have very likely been a stand out as a college player at a high level. He was an anchor player as a founding member of the Nite Hawks and several years later on their League Championship and national top 5 ranked team. JOE will be welcoming many more of his team mates to the Heavenly Gridiron above in the coming years to relieve many great Nite Hawk memories Very belated condolences to all his family

My sincere condolences to Helen and your family. I always thought a lot of Joe, not only as a fellow Nitehawk, but as a great person. I never seen Joe not smiling. From one original Nitehawks to another, rest in peace my friend and get a team together. One day we will all be together again.
