Karen Sue Oxley Miller, the daughter of John W. and Hattie Dresser Oxley was born on December 30, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a 1967 graduate of East High School in Des Moines, Iowa.

On May 18, 1968, Karen was united in marriage with Craig S. Miller in Des Moines. They were blessed with two children, Craig, Jr. and Dani. Karen worked in the factory for 19 years at the Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa. She was a member of the UAW Local 997. Karen also volunteered with Planned Parenthood during their book sales and she was a Women’s Rights Supporter. Karen was an avid reader. She also enjoyed going to car shows and their trips to Maine.

Karen died on Friday, August 10, 2018, at her home in Newton. She was 69. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Cora Van Houton.

Those left to cherish Karen’s memory are her husband, Craig of Newton; son, Craig Miller, Jr. of Newton; daughter, Dani (Matt) Siebert of Dayton; her two grandchildren,  Leah Siebert of Boone and Jonah Siebert of Dayton; siblings, Robert (Bobbi) Oxley of Wisconsin, LeRoy (Nancy) Oxley of Panora, Chuck (Sue) Oxley of Nebraska, Cleo Immel of Des Moines, Mary Bennett of Des Moines and Wanda (Mike) Anderson of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
