Nikki (Reavis) Burtlow

Nikki Burtlow, 34, of Newton died on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.  A visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  Memorials to Nikki’s family may be left at the funeral home. 

Nikki, the daughter of Larry and Betty (Hesse) Reavis, was born on September 22, 1983 in Newton.  She was a lifelong resident of Newton.  Nikki was united in marriage with James Burtlow on October 31, 2008 in Newton. They were blessed with two children: Bentley and Lara.  Nikki enjoyed being outdoors, going to concerts, gardening, bowling, and camping.  She also loved frogs and dogs. The most important to her though was spending time with her family.  Nikki was a past member of the Izaak Walton League.

Those left to honor Nikki’s memory are her husband, James Burtlow of Newton; children, Bentley and Lara Burtlow; parents, Larry and Betty Reavis of Newton; her siblings, Amanda Reavis-Alter (Ramey Alter) of Grinnell, Lorrie Reavis (Brendt Roney) of Newton, and Misty Reavis (Terry Kephart) of Grinnell; nieces and nephew, Bronson Alter, Shevi Alter, Ryley Roney, Layla Reavis, and Shayla Winchell; her parent-in-laws, Allen and Debbie Burtlow; and many cousins; aunts; uncles including David Hesse of Seymour; and friends.  She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
