Patricia “Patti” Ann (Urias) Klein Parker, 66, of Newton died on Monday, October 7, 2019, at the Comfort House in Pella.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.  Patti's celebration of life will continue at the American Legion in Newton at 4:00 p.m.  Memorials to the NHS Booster Club may be left at the funeral home.

Patti, the daughter of Joe and Lucy (Vander Linden) Urias, was born on June 7, 1953 in Knoxville.  She grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in the Class of 1971.  Patti worked at the telephone company for many years, Interstate Insurance, and later for Iowa Telecom/Windstream.  She was a member of the Women of the Moose and bowled in the Women’s Bowling League in Newton.

Patti truly enjoyed being a homemaker and found joy in cleaning, doing laundry, cooking, refurbishing furniture, and decorating.  She was also very talented in making crafts, posters, and sewing. Patti liked going to the Drive-In, the races, and the Iowa State Fair. She also liked Michael Jackson, the Olympic Games, and was an avid Newton Cardinal and Iowa Hawkeye fan.  Most of all, Patti loved her grandchildren and going to their activities was her favorite place to be.

Patti is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Al Parker of Newton; daughters, Nicki (Brian) Shores and Stacey Klein (Mike Whistler), both of Newton; grandchildren, Austin, Devin, and Libby Shores, Payton (Jessica) Thomas and Kaiden Whistler; her step-children, Al Parker and Michelle Bowman and their families; parents, Joe and Lucy Urias of Newton; her siblings, Mike (Annie) Urias of Newton, Ron (Sally) Urias of Newton, Teresa (Kent) Shirley of Altoona, Chris (John) Heck of Newton, and Joe (Monica) Urias of Newton; and her many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
