Ronald "Ron" Trease Obituary

Ron’s memorial service is 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 20th at the funeral home.

The family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service with a lunch at the funeral home.

A private family inurnment will be at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.

Ronald W. “Ron” Trease the son of Clarence Jay “Buck” and Claudena M. McDaniel Trease, was born on January 5, 1936 in Newton, Iowa. He was a graduate of Newton High School in 1954.

On September 10, 1954, Ron was united in marriage with Beverly J. Medlin at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. They were blessed with two sons, Rick and Gregg. Ron was a Service Supervisor for the Maytag Company. He worked 40 years, retiring in 1993. From 1967-1984 the Trease Brothers owned and operated Newton Marine Sales and Service. He was a member of the Newton Elks Lodge No. 1270. Ron served his country in the U. S. Navy. He enjoyed traveling, boating and old cars.

Ron died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton. He was 82. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Beverly in 2007; and twin brother, Donald in 2013.

Those left to honor Ron’s memory are his sons, Rick (Tracy) Trease of Newton and Gregg (Carol) Trease of Newton; four grandchildren, Amanda (Robert) Hoffman of Newton, Ryan (Leasha) Trease of Newton, Brianne (Daniel) Fitzgerald of Johnston and Sara (Billy) Ware of Clive; two step grandchildren, Ben (Valerie) Moore of Altoona and Heather Moore (Justin) of Kellogg; his nine great-grandchildren, Ashton, Alexis and Alivia Hoffman, Hailey and Reilly Trease, Declan, Killian and Caitrin Fitzgerald and William Ware; his four step great-grandchildren, Mason and Zoe Moore and Asher and Phoebe Faircloth; brothers, Larry Trease (Clara Trease) of Newton and Jerry (Patty) Trease of Newton and his several nieces and nephews.
