Sandra Swarts Obituary

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Heights Alliance Church.

Sandra Colleen Swarts, the daughter of Elgie Ellsworth and Eva Mae (Perry) Moore, was born on February 27, 1939, in Centerville, Iowa. One of six children, she was a graduate of Centerville High School.

Colleen worked for the Meredith Corp. as a proofreader for magazines such as Better Homes and Gardens. She did this for a number of years and during this time she met the love of her life, Cloyd B. Swarts. They were united in marriage on July 2, 1961, in her hometown of Centerville, and were married for 57 years.

Colleen had many skills such as knitting, crocheting, sewing, and baking, which she loved sharing with her daughters, nieces, and friends.

Colleen went to be with the Lord at the age of 80 on Sunday, November 3, 2019, in the comfort of her own home on the family farm which she shared with her husband for over 50 years.

She was greeted in Heaven by her husband, Cloyd; her parents, Elgie and Eva; her brothers, Larry and Laverne; and a sister, Vivian.

Those left behind to honor her memory are daughters, Susanne (Brian) Fort of Tennessee and Kimberly Swarts of Drakesville, Iowa; grandsons, Branden and Matthew Fort; sister, Darlene Moore; brother, Wayne Moore; along with her nieces and nephews.
