Scott David Beintema, 56, of Newton died on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at his home. No services are scheduled at this time.

Scott, the son of Robert Wayne and Joy LaVert (Taber) Beintema, was born on June 2, 1963 in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School and served his country in the United States Navy. Scott worked as a handyman.

Scott is survived by his mother, Joy Beintema of Newton; children, Nathan Beintema and Megan Beintema, both of Newton; his brother, Galen Beintema of Colfax; sisters, Jill Grimes of Newton and Nancy Van Peursem of Prairie City; and his grandmother, Lucille Taber of Newton. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Beintema; paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
