Sharon Kay Jaennette, 71, of Newton died on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Skiff Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, at the funeral home. Memorials to Sharon’s family may be left at the funeral home.
Sharon, the daughter of Burton and Madeline (Romer) Lester, was born on November 7, 1946 in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1964. On April 7, 1980, Sharon was united in marriage with Jimmi Jaennette in Newton. Sharon had worked at Snooks, Pizza Hut, Perkins, and Dollar General prior to being a homemaker. Her hobbies included playing Bingo, thrift shopping, and spending her summers at local dirt tracks. She also loved animals; especially her dog Rusty. Most of all, Sharon loved spending time with her family and taking family trips to the zoo.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Jimmi Jaennette of Newton; children, Larry (Teresa) Dhondt of Kellogg, Kristen Jaennette (Dustin) of Tama, and Michael (Kristin) Jaennette of Kellogg; her grandchildren, Ashley, Calvin (Justina), Brooklyn, Dayton, Kinzer, London, and Gunner; great-grandchildren, Krayton, Tatum, Blake, Kenzli, Presley, and Trigg; and her brother, Darrell (Jeannie) Lester of Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents.
