Timothy “Tim” Lee Ballard, 34, of Newton passed away on December 27, 2019, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends with a lunch from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials in Tim’s name may be left at the funeral home.
Tim was born August 25, 1985, in Newton to Larry and Phyllis Arlene (McWhirter) Ballard. Tim graduated from Newton Senior High School in 2004. Tim enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his mother. He loved to cook for her, go for drives around town and just be with her. Since the death of his father in 2012, he missed his dad daily and always wanted to drive to Baxter to see him at the cemetery. Tim also loved animals. There wasn’t a cat or dog that didn’t come right up to him. His cat, Shadow, and his mom and dad’s dog, Foxy Lady, would always sit right by him. One of his favorite things to do was go out to eat. It didn’t matter where, but he sure did enjoy a big steak just like his dad.
Tim is survived by his mother, Phyllis of Newton; a sister, Shannon (Duane) Musser of Williamsburg; two brothers, Bill Cupples of Newton and Tony (Kim) Cupples of Jefferson City, Missouri; seven nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and other family member and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and nephew, Dillon Cupples.
