Wayne Northcutt Obituary

Wayne C. Northcutt, 76, of Newton died on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at the Iowa Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown.  The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  Memorials to the Iowa Veteran’s Home or St. Jude Children’s Hospital may be left at the funeral home.  

Wayne, the son of George and Betty (Hummel) Sickle, was born on May 3, 1943 in Newton.  He was a lifelong resident of Newton.  Wayne served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart.  Wayne was united in marriage with Donna McConkley on November 24, 1969 in Newton.  He worked and later retired from the Maytag Company.  Wayne was a member of the American Legion Post 111.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  

Wayne is survived by his wife, Donna Northcutt of Newton; son, Pat (Renae) Northcutt of Newton; step-children, Becky Lane of Knoxville, Pamela Hernandez of Marshalltown, and Dennis (Lori) Rainey of Newton; grandchildren, Chelsi, Jimmy, Colton, Eric, Jon, Kendra, Buffi, Courtney, Jenny, Heather, and Jessie; his many great-grandchildren; brother, Rick Northcutt of Des Moines; and an uncle, Roy Hummel of Newton.  He was preceded in death by his parents; step-children, Douglas Rainey and Darrell “Buddy” Rainey; granddaughter, Amy; and a great-granddaughter, Kaydance.
