A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 16th at the VFW in Newton.

Anita M. “Toots” Trotter, the daughter of Earl and Darlene Maxwell Nelson was born on May 27, 1954 in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from high school and college.
In 1969 Toots was united in marriage with Douglas D. Trotter in Newton. They were blessed with two children, Rob and Lisa.
Toots worked as a Tax Preparer at her business, Trotter’s Tax Service. She had owned the D & T Tap in Reasnor. Toots had also worked at Thomberts for 27 years and at Brierly Law Office. She enjoyed cooking for family get togethers, making homemade noodles, she loved watching the girls do gymnastics, going to the casino, camping and fishing.
Toots died on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was 67. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Arlene, Vonnie, Sonny, Dorothy and Liz.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Doug of Newton; children, Rob Trotter of Newton, Lisa Kruse of Newton and Tracy Chamberlain of Newton; her grandchildren, Vanessa Trotter of Newton, Chelsea (Trent) Salsman of New Mexico, Maddison Kruse of Arizona, Michael Kruse of Arizona, Gunnar (Chai) Bucklin of Newton and Allison Chamberlain of Newton; great-grandchildren, Layne, Naliapon and baby boy Salsman on the way; and her sister, Carmen (Bob) Vanderleest of Newton.
