Arthur “Art/Bud” Warden, 80, of Newton, died Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Izaak Walton League in Newton. Memorials in Art’s name can be left at the celebration of life or at the funeral home. Please make checks payable to Val Warden.
Art, the son of Loren and Dorothy (Finney) Warden, was born October 13, 1943, in Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1962. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965. Art worked at The Maytag Company for many years as the supervisor of the porcelain department. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, bowling, traveling, riding motorcycle, and reading.
Art is survived by his wife of 59 years, Val Warden of Newton; his 3 daughters: Cathy (Dan) Dietrich of Newton, Mindy (Matt) Beaderstadt of Grimes, and Debby (Tim) Hudson of Van Meter; 6 grandchildren: Megan (Cody) Chapman of Newton, Jamie (Michael) Landgrebe of Colfax, Brandon Beaderstadt of Hollywood, CA, Bailey (Luke) Norcross of St. Louis Park, MN, Wyatt Hudson of Adel, and Corbin Hudson of Ankeny; his great-granddaughter, Olive Chapman; and two sisters, Cheryl Chamberlain of Newton and Brenda Thomas of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steve Warden.
