Austin William Sellers

Austin William Sellers, 19, of Newton died on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.  A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  A private family graveside will be held. 

Austin, the son of Eric Sellers and Jodi and Dusty Albertson, was born on November 10, 2006, in Des Moines.  He grew up in Newton and attended Newton schools.  In 2025, Austin graduated from West Academy. He had been working at Hewitt’s Service Center in Monroe which was a great fit because Austin was a complete “car nut”.  He enjoyed working on trucks, cars, tires, or anything else to do with vehicles.  He also liked riding motorcycles, four-wheelers, and dirt bikes and racing.   Most of all, Austin enjoyed hanging out with his friends.

Austin is survived by his parents, Jodi (Dusty) Albertson of Newton and Eric (Kay) Sellers of Grinnell; siblings, DJ Albertson, Shelbi Albertson, Chiane Hartman, and Jaemi Hartman; paternal grandparents, Dwaine and Joy Sellers of Grinnell and Dave and Mary Albertson of Grinnell; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenny Schafer and Deanna Schafer.
