Barbara A. Wilson, the daughter of Frederick and Eleanor (Hagen) Lounsbury, was born April 13, 1947, in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada. She moved to Newton in 1952 and graduated from Newton High School in 1965. She worked as a telecom draftsman until an injury forced her to retire. Barb enjoyed the quiet of living in the country. She was notorious for her immaculate yard and her dedication to removing any weed that somehow found its way on her property. Barb loved watching birds, especially the blue birds that frequented her home. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping, and any time spent outdoors.
Those left to honor Barb’s memory include her daughter, Amy (Shane) Engle of rural Killduff; her grandchildren, Tessa (Jon) Faga of Iowa City and Noah Engle of rural Killduff; her great-grandson, Watson Faga; her sisters, Joni (Richard) Bailey of Knoxville and Elsie (Fred) McCumber of Reasnor; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Bonnie Lounsbury; and a nephew, Jason Pothoven.
