Bart Allen Adkins, 63, of Newton died on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at his home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Bart, the son of Wilbur and Barbara (Jackovich) Adkins, was born on May 15, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in Ankeny and lived in the Des Moines area most of his life. On May 13, 2006, Bart was united in marriage with Penny Allen in Polk County. In 2021, they moved to Newton. Bart had worked in construction as a laborer and brick layer. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, disc golfing, and hiking. He also loved his cats.
Bart is survived by his sister, Rhonda (Christopher) Torrez of Des Moines; step-children, Jennifer Page of Des Moines, Eric Page of Nebraska, Nicholas Page of Newton, and Bobby Page of Des Moines; step-grandchildren, Haley and Braydon Wolfe; Zoe, Zane, and Sawyer Page; Cobain, Kelley, and Kye Page; and Kendrall and Christopher Page; brothers-in-law, Michael Webb of Ankeny and Donald Baker of Barnes City; sister-in-law, Donna Adkins of Seymour; his aunts, Mary Kloster of Des Moines and Areda Waters of Ankeny; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur “Butch” Adkins and Barbara Evatt; wife, Penny Adkins in 2021; siblings, Steve Adkins, Cindy Baker, and Lourie Webb; and a nephew, Kurt Adamson.
