Betsy Miller Obituary

Betsy’s family will greet friends with a coffee time at the funeral home at a later date this spring. A private family inurnment will be at the Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton at a later date.

Betsy Kae Kendall Miller, the daughter of William and Madge Cooper Kendall was born on September 20, 1935 in Newton, Iowa. She was a graduate of Newton High School in 1954.

On October 10, 1954, Betsy was united in marriage with Tom V. Miller at the United Presbyterian Church in Newton. They were blessed with three children, Tim, Pam and Christopher. Betsy retired from Peoples Natural Gas as a customer service representative. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and shopping.

Betsy died on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center in Newton. She was 84. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Byrdene Winn Kendall; husband, Tom in September of 2015; and son, Christopher W. “Chris” Miller in April of 2015.

Those left to cherish Betsy’s memory are her children, Tim (Cindy) Miller of Newton and Pam Miller of Newton; grandsons, Tony (Tammy) Miller of Marion and Trevor Miller of West Allis, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Wexton, Vauhn, and Dalen Kay Miller; her stepbrother, Calvin Winn of Newton; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Hunt of Apache Junction, Arizona and Dee Kendall of Houston, Texas.
