Betty Joy (Currier) Bowie, 86, of Monroe died on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, please leave memorials to the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Memorials may be left at the funeral.
Betty, the daughter of Jack and Cora (Best) Currier, was born on September 19, 1935. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe. Betty was a homemaker and raised five children.
Betty is survived by her children, Rebecca Jones (John Six) of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Kimberly Jordan of Pella, Milton Bowie of Newton, Lori (Roger) Andera of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Susan (Billy) Ford of Monroe; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and her sisters, June Rozga of Clintonville, Wisconsin, and Norma Bell of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert and William Bowie; granddaughter, Christina Chapman; the children’s father, Robert E. Bowie; and sisters, Myrna C. Siebelts and Bonnie Clinkenbeard.
