Charles “Charlie” Elva Albertson, 67, of rural Newton died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his home. A celebration of life will be held from 11-1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials in Charlie’s name (checks made payable to Charles Albertson) may be left at the funeral home.
Charlie, the son of Earl and Betty (Smith) Albertson II, was born on April 1, 1957, in Newton. He attended Newton schools and spent most of his life living in the Kellogg and Newton areas. On December 18, 1974, Charlie was united in marriage with Roberta Mussett in Newton. He worked for Newton Roofing, Circle C Construction, Midwest Manufacturing, and then retired from Jeld-Wen. Charlie had volunteered with the St. Nick Christmas Club through the years. He was a backyard mechanic and enjoyed anything with an engine including Figure 8 racing, Go-Kart racing, and riding his motorcycle. He also liked fishing, fireworks, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Charlie is survived by his three children, Rachel Albertson of Kellogg, Charles (Amanda) Albertson II of Kellogg, and Joshua (Sharon) Albertson of Newton; grandchildren, Tasha (Mike) Avila, Zach (Megan) Leach, Kristina (Kenny) Lamb, Chas (Charles) McVay, Damian Andersen (Molly Laska), Jason Andersen, Keaton Albertson, Kathryn Albertson, Danielle Albertson, and Megan Albertson; his many great-grandchildren; his mother, Betty Albertson of Newton; siblings, Dave (Mary) Albertson, Lorna Walls, Carol Filson, and Betty Bird; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl “Boots” Albertson II and brother, Earl Albertson III.
