Charles “Chuck” D. Warren, Sr., of Newton, Iowa, passed away suddenly on August 8, 2025. Chuck was born in Kewanee, Illinois, the 7th child of Mary and Jerry Warren.
Chuck was a hard-working man who loved and adored his wife and 9 children. The grandfather (PaPa) of 32 grandchildren, 1 grandchild on the way, and 1 great-granddaughter. Chuck was a jack of all trades (mechanic, welder, woodworker, plumber, and even painting fingernails with his granddaughters). He dedicated the last 16 years to working as a mechanic for the Union Pacific Railroad in Iowa. To his children, he was a “Superhero.”
An outdoorsman, Chuck loved to hunt, fish, four-wheel, go boating, and most of all, spending family vacations and holidays together. Chuck loved deeply, especially his family and always offered a lending ear, and a laugh to cheer you up.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Karon Warren of Newton; his mother, Mary Warren of East Alton, IL; his 9 children: Kelly (Kyle) Sanders of Bunker Hill, Daniel Blair of Elberon, IA, Kimberly (Tiffany) Warren of IA. Joshua Blair of Brooklyn, IA, Charles (Hope) Warren, Jr. of Delhi, IL, Kayla Warren of Carlinville, IL, Joseph Warren of Eldon, MO, Chelsie Warren of Jerseyville, IL, Jacob (Augusta) Blair of SD; 32 grandchildren and 1 on the way; 1 great-granddaughter; 6 siblings: Patsy (Rick) Henry, Jeff (Mellissa) Warren, Willie (Dottie) Warren, Jim (Sarah) Warren, Vicky (Mark) Shewmaker, and Hank Warren.
