Charles A. “Chuckie” Slatton, 62, of Rock Creek, died Friday, April 26, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Chuckie’s name can be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton. Please make checks payable to Kyra DeVault.
Chuckie, the son of Franklin and Betty (Smith) Slatton, was born July 22, 1961, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1980. He worked at Maytag until they closed, then went to work at Jeld-Wen. He most recently worked for Rock Communications. Chuckie enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time at the lake, gardening, and spending time with his family—especially family reunions where he got to catch up with family he didn’t see as often.
Chuckie is survived by his daughter, Kyra DeVault (John Wells) of Newton; one grandson, Joey Wells; his siblings, Fred Slatton, Bertha Hansen (Craig Crall), and Sharel Simbro (Denny Baker); and several nieces and nephews, including Josh Slatton, James Slatton and Stephanie Castaneda. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Frankie Slatton and Terry Slatton.
