Clara May Foster, 75, of Newton died on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Newton Healthcare Center. A celebration of her life will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, April 27, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
Clara, the daughter of Everett and Dorothy (Fick) Foster, was born on December 10, 1949, at the Skiff Hospital in Newton. She lived in Baxter until 1975 when she moved to Newton. Clara worked as a nurse’s aide and in housekeeping at the Iowa Veteran’s Home for almost 25 years and later at Newton Healthcare for over 10 years; retiring in 2017. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, and painting. Clara was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt.
Clara is survived by her siblings, Roger (Kathryn) Foster of Council Bluffs, Charlie (Terry) Foster of Fordland, Missouri, and Rosemary McKeever of Urbandale; nieces and nephews, Corey Foster, Blake and Samantha Foster, and Justin and Jason McKeever; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Katana, Finley, Danielle, Jacob, Juliana, and Rowan. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Kim McKeever; cousins; and aunts and uncles.
