Connie Louise Oswald

   Connie Louise Oswald, 82, of Newton, formerly of Des Moines, died Monday, April 6, 2026, at Valley Vista Nursing and Rehab in Newton.  A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2026, at Hewitt Cemetery in rural Sully. Memorials to the Valley Vista Nursing and Rehab Activities Fund can be left at the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.

   Connie, the daughter of Albert and Myrtle (Hampton) Oswald, was born October 4, 1943, in Des Moines.  She attended Des Moines schools. Connie had worked as a babysitter and then worked at Dickson Industries for many years. She most recently worked at Ramsey Village nursing home in Des Moines for 20 years. Connie also raised and showed Irish Setters. She was a member of the American Kennel Club and the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ankeny. Connie enjoyed camping, playing video games, and watching old tv shows. In her younger years, she also enjoyed growing flowers in her yard.

   Connie is survived by her sister, Kathy Worthington of Ankeny; her brother, Walter Oswald of Des Moines; and her niece, Jackie (James) Poteralski of Ankeny.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Albert James Oswald and Loren Robert Oswald (in infancy.)
