Craig Alan Dawson

   Craig A. Dawson, 58, of Newton, died Thursday, January 16, 2025, in Newton.  No services are scheduled at this time.  
   Craig, the son of Francis Junior Dawson and Verneil Griffin, was born July 3, 1966, in Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1984. He had been a roofer for Academy Roofing and Sheet Metal.  Craig enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, dogs, hockey, listening to music and going to concerts, and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals.
   Those left to honor Craig’s memory include his children, Mason Dawson and Kylie Dawson of Newton; his mother, Verneil Knott of Newton; and his brothers, Terry (Kathy) Dawson of West Des Moines and Glenn “Frank” (Mary) Dawson of Newton. He was preceded in death by his father.
